🇳🇱 Dit schilderij (olieverf op waterbasis) van Rory Gallagher , spelend in een oud gezellig bruin cafe, heb ik gemaakt samen met nog een ander schilderij (Tattoo Lady). Dit omdat wanneer het ene moest drogen ik aan het ander kon doorwerken. Na lange tijd werkte ik nog eens met olieverf vandaar ook de verwarring met dat acrylverf sneller droogt dan olieverf zelfs op waterbasis
Bij het vorige schilderij wilde ik zoveel mogelijk kleuren creëren met de 5 hoofdkleuren die ik had. Dit geldt dan ook voor dit schilderij . Vandaar dat Tattoo Lady pas echt af was , wanneer ook Rock for Rory af was omdat vaak kleuren ontstonden die ik perse ook bij tattoo Lady wou toevoegen.
Bij dit schilderij wil ik Rory duidelijk op de voorgrond hebben en het publiek en het bruine cafe met zijn gezelligheid ruw geschilderd maar herkenbaar op de achtergrond en het licht speelt ook daar een grote rol ivm het 17eeuws raam op de achtergrond.
De kijker mag zelf beslissen wie en wat hij allemaal in het schilderij ziet.
Zie ook de oude trap in de voorgrond met op elke trede de naam van een band of rockstar.
🇬🇧 I made this painting (water-based oil paint) with Rory Gallagher in an old cozy brown pub., together with another painting (Tattoo Lady). This is because when one had to dry I could continue working on the other. After a long time I worked with oil paint, hence the confusion with acrylic paint drying faster as oilpaint even waterbased..
In the previous painting I wanted to create as many colors as possible with the 5 main colors that I had.
This also applies to this painting which is why Tattoo Lady is only really finished when Rock for Rory is finished .
Because often colors arise that I also want to add to Tattoo Lady.
With this painting, I want Rory to be clearly in the foreground and the audience and the brown pub with its cosiness roughly painted but recognizable in the background and the light also plays a major role there because of the 17th-century window in the background.
The viewer can decide for himself who and what he sees in the painting.
